1. The organizer
Design Luxembourg asbl (RC: F 3162), with its registered office at 42, rue de Hollerich, L-1740 Luxembourg, is the organizer of the Luxembourg Design Awards 2025.
2. The jury
2.1. Composition of the Jury
The Jury is composed of international experts from various design disciplines, all recognized in their respective fields.
2.2. Jury President
The Jury will elect a president on the first day of deliberation (18 September 2025). The president will ensure the proper conduct of the deliberations.
2.3. Eligibility Review of Projects during Jury Deliberation
The Jury will review the eligibility and relevance of the submitted projects according to the categories of the Luxembourg Design Awards: product design, identity design, logo design, editorial design, illustration design, print design, packaging design, digital design, movie & animation design, installation design, fashion design, junior talents – Tom Gloesener Prize.
2.4. Replacement
In the event a Jury member becomes unavailable, the Board of Directors of Design Luxembourg asbl reserves the right to appoint a replacement. Any changes to the composition of the Jury will be announced on www.designawards.lu.
3. Judging Criteria
Submitted projects will be evaluated according to the following criteria:
- Design Quality: level of formal and technical excellence, including mastery of craftsmanship.
- Creativity: originality of the concept and richness of artistic qualities.
- Relevance: appropriateness of the response to its context, function, or audience.
- Innovation: novelty of the approach, breakthrough, or significant advancement brought by the project.
The Jury will also determine whether a special mention for “Sustainable Design” may be awarded in addition to a prize. This mention recognizes a project that incorporates a sustainable design approach: responsible material choices, reduction of environmental impact, ethical production, longevity, or circularity. Applicants must explain how their project addresses these sustainability challenges.
4. Awards and Exhibition
4.1. Distinctions: Two Levels of Awards – Gold and Silver
Each category may result in:
- A maximum of two Gold Awards, if the Jury considers the work to be of exceptionally high quality.
- Several Silver Awards.
Gold and Silver award winners will receive a trophy during the awards ceremony (on 13 November 2025).
The Jury reserves the right to award a “Jury’s Special Prize” and a “Sustainable Design” special mention for each award.
4.2. Exhibition of Awarded Projects
Winning projects (Gold and Silver) will be featured in dedicated videos highlighting the 2025 Luxembourg Design Awards winners and will be made available online.
5. Submissions
5.1. Eligibility Criteria
The submission rules will be published either prior to or at the latest at the time of the opening of registrations.
To be eligible, participation fees must be paid by 11 July 2025, which marks the end of the submission period. The Organizer reserves the right to extend the submission deadline. Any such extension will be announced on www.designawards.lu.
The submission form is available online at www.designawards.lu and must be completed in English.
5.2. Submission of Physical Materials
The Jury will review projects either digitally (via online submissions) or in physical format if deemed necessary by the participant.

All physical materials (or correspondence) submitted to the Organizer must include the reference ID number received in the online submission confirmation email.
5.3. Project Eligibility
Projects must be created by professional designers – agencies or freelancers – established in the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg and must be accompanied by a valid VAT number.
Students enrolled in a design program at a school in Luxembourg or abroad are also eligible to participate.
For the 2025 edition, all projects completed between February 2023 and July 2025 are eligible.
5.4. Return of Physical Materials
Physical materials submitted may be collected from the Organizer at the Design Hub on:
- Monday 24 November 2025 – 09:00 to 15:00
- Tuesday 25 November 2025 – 09:00 to 15:00
- Wednesday 26 November 2025 – 09:00 to 15:00

5.5. Reproduction Rights
Projects may not be presented without the legal author’s consent.
5.6. Project Publication
With the author’s consent, the Organizer reserves the right to publish the submitted projects on the following platforms: the website www.designawards.lu; all promotional and communication materials related to the 2025 Luxembourg Design Awards; videos dedicated to the winners of the 2025 Luxembourg Design Awards.
The name of the project and/or the author will always be credited.
The Organizer also reserves the right to record, film, photograph, and publish any content related to the awards ceremony.
5.7. Participation Fee Payment
Participation fees must be paid online when submitting the application via www.designawards.lu.
5.8. Shipping Costs
All costs related to shipping and/or submitting physical materials are the responsibility of the participant.
5.9. Withdrawal Fees
Participants may withdraw at any time by sending an email to awards@designluxembourg.lu, including the reference ID received in the submission confirmation email.
If the withdrawal occurs before the registration deadline (11 July 2025), the participation fee will be fully refunded. After this date, 15% of the fee will be retained to cover administrative costs.
5.10. Acceptance of the Rules
Submitting an entry implies full acceptance of these rules and regulations.
5.11. Exclusion from Participation
Members of the Jury and their first-degree relatives are not eligible to participate.
6. Project Submission Procedure
Key Dates:
- Opening of project submissions: Thursday 12 June 2025 at noon
- Submission deadline: Friday 11 July, 2025 at midnight (subject to possible extension by the Organizer)
- Jury deliberation: 18 and 19 September 2025
Participation Fees
For Design Luxembourg members:
- 0 € for the first two submissions (discount code to be entered during payment)
- 160 € per submission (3rd – 4th submission)
- 140 € per submission (from the 5th submission onward)
For non-members:
- 200 € per submission (1st – 2nd submission)
- 160 € per submission (3rd – 4th submission)
- 140 € per submission (from the 5th submission onward)
For the “Junior Talent” Prize (students):
- 0 € for the first submission
- 120 € for each additional submission
Summary of Participation Terms
- The submission form must be completed online at www.designawards.lu between 12 June and 11 July 2025 (subject to possible extension by the Organizer).
- All projects completed between February 2023 and July 2025 are eligible.
- Submissions will only be considered after online payment of the total amount corresponding to the number of forms received via www.designawards.lu.
- All correspondence, documents, or other materials sent to the Organizer must include the reference ID number found in the registration confirmation email.
- Physical material submissions are optional and may be dropped off at the Design Hub from 15 to 17 September 2025.
- All costs related to the shipping and/or delivery of physical materials are the responsibility of the participant.
- Participants may withdraw at any time by emailing awards@designluxembourg.lu and including their submission reference ID.
- If the withdrawal occurs before the submission deadline, the participation fee will be fully refunded. After that date, 15% of the fee will be retained to cover administrative costs.
- Physical materials may be collected from 24 to 26 November 2025 at the Design Hub.
