Opening of Panorama: product design exhibition
What characterises product design in Luxembourg is not a long-established tradition but an emerging field that continues to take shape. The community of designers is still modest in size, yet steadily expanding, and its strength lies precisely in this moment of formation. Rather than defining what Luxembourgish design should be, this exhibition chooses to capture it as it unfolds – a Momentaufnahme, a snapshot of a discipline in motion.
Panorama brings together 21 works by designers from or based in Luxembourg, spanning objects of daily use and unique pieces, offering a view across a wide and varied landscape. Each design reflects a different way of working with materials, forms, and ideas, sometimes rooted in tradition, sometimes pushing toward experiment and innovation, yet always honest in their approach.
Seen together, these works form a panorama of approaches that highlight the role design is beginning to play in Luxembourg’s cultural, creative, and economic fabric. Rather than a fixed canon, the exhibition presents design as an evolving practice – diverse, searching, and open-ended – shaped by individual voices within a shared cultural environment.
In parallel, a selection of student projects from the Lycée des Arts & Métiers will be on view, offering a glimpse of future design voices.
